The Role of Medical Technology Engineer

Your tasks include the implementation, maintenance, and consultation of medical technology equipment and medical IT systems used in various departments of the hospital and health centers. A large part of the work takes place in a care-oriented environment where dialogue and collaboration with healthcare staff are a natural part. The work also involves participating in the procurement of equipment and taking part in tenders and projects. Management of IT systems, installing, and troubleshooting hardware and software in medical technology applications are also included.

The job requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as the requirement to communicate with healthcare staff and document service efforts is high. You also need to be proficient in English to communicate with international service organizations and to benefit from training.

Your Future Workplace

The medical technology area within Region Jönköping County works with the implementation, maintenance, and consultation regarding medical technology equipment used to treat and diagnose patients in, for example, surgery, radiology, dialysis, and intensive care. The operation is certified according to ISO 9001:2015. In Region Jönköping County, we have approximately 45 employees in the medical technology area, of which 12 are at Högland Hospital in Eksjö.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in technology while being driven by helping others! You have an engineering degree or what we consider equivalent competence acquired through work experience and education. Experience in medical technology operations is desirable but not a requirement. Medical technology equipment is often connected to IT systems, so education and experience in the IT field are advantageous.

You work just as well independently as in a team and are a driven person with a good ability to see opportunities in changing circumstances. We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. Travel in the service occurs, and therefore a B driver's license is a requirement.
